In a historic move to deepen partnerships and elevate Nigeria’s position in global aviation, the Federal Government has commenced interactive sessions with international airline operators ahead of the maiden edition of the Nigeria International Air Show.
The event, scheduled to take place later this year, marks the first time the country will host a world-class air show designed to showcase Nigeria’s aviation potential, attract investment, and promote indigenous innovations in aerospace.
At the stakeholder session held in Abuja, key players from international airlines, aviation service providers, regulatory agencies, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) discussed strategies for mutual cooperation, investment opportunities, and the modernization of Nigeria’s airspace infrastructure.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, noted that the Nigeria International Air Show would provide a platform for demonstrating the nation’s aviation readiness, encourage technology transfer, and highlight the government’s efforts at ensuring a safe, secure, and business-friendly aviation sector.
“This interactive session is crucial to the success of the upcoming air show. We are engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure we deliver an event that not only puts Nigeria on the global aviation map but also drives sustainable growth in the sector,” the Minister said.
Participants welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that the air show will position Nigeria as a regional hub for aviation and aerospace activities in Africa.
The maiden edition of the Nigeria International Air Show is expected to attract industry giants, aircraft manufacturers, military and civilian aviation experts, and policy influencers from around the world.
