Algeria has strongly condemned Israel’s recent strike on Qatar, describing the action as further proof that Tel Aviv has no genuine interest in pursuing peace.
Speaking at a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) session, Algeria’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Amar Bendjama, said Israel “thrives on war” and operates “as if law does not exist.” He added that the attack underscored a pattern of disregard for international norms and posed a grave threat to regional and global security.
Bendjama stressed that continued military aggression in the Middle East undermines efforts to secure peace and stability. He urged the international community, particularly the UNSC, to hold Israel accountable and take concrete steps toward ending the cycle of violence.
The strike has drawn widespread condemnation, with calls mounting for de-escalation and renewed dialogue to prevent further destabilisation in the region.
