Basketball Without Borders Africa Camp Showcases Talent and Community Spirit in Kigali

Kigali, Rwanda | August 26, 2025

Over 60 boys and girls from 21 African countries took part in on-court skills development sessions on Day Two of the Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Africa camp in Kigali, Rwanda. The training sessions, held on Monday at Petit Stade, preceded the participants’ first team practices and games with their coaches.

Coaches used the weekend sessions to evaluate and select players for team competition, with successful groups scheduled to advance to the boys’ and girls’ championship games at the BK Arena on Tuesday, August 26.

The day concluded with an NBA Cares initiative that brought together 100 elderly women for a basketball clinic and a wheelchair basketball clinic, organized in collaboration with Shooting Touch and the Rwanda Basketball Federation (FERWABA) at Petit Stade. The community outreach also included donations of 100 pairs of shoes and 12 wheelchairs to support grassroots basketball development in Rwanda.

The BWB Africa camp, which gathers top young basketball prospects across the continent, continues to serve as both a talent-development platform and a vehicle for social impact.
