The Chicago Bulls pulled off an incredible comeback against the Los Angeles Lakers, capped off by Josh Giddey’s stunning half-court buzzer-beater, to secure a 119-117 victory at the United Center on Thursday.
Trailing by five points with less than 13 seconds remaining, the Bulls hit three three-pointers in the final 10 seconds, setting the stage for Giddey’s dramatic winner. With time expiring, Giddey launched a deep shot from within his own half, which found the hoop, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Giddey finished with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, notching his fifth triple-double of the season. He became the first Bulls player since Michael Jordan in 1988-89 to achieve this feat.
Giddey described the moment as “special” and credited his teammates for their role in the comeback. “Special moment to do it with these guys, this team,” he said.

LeBron James, who turned the ball over with 9.8 seconds left, acknowledged the Lakers’ mistakes in the final moments. “We put ourselves in position to win, gave up a lot of threes in the fourth quarter, still put ourselves in position to win,” James said.
Lakers coach Darvin Ham described the mood in the dressing room as “devastation,” adding, “It’s a hell of a way to lose a basketball game.”
In other NBA action, the Oklahoma City Thunder set a franchise record with their 61st win of the season, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 125-104. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 37 points, as they continued their dominant season.
