Calm and Ruthless Alcaraz Marches into Third Successive Wimbledon Final

Carlos Alcaraz delivered another commanding performance on Centre Court to defeat American Taylor Fritz and reach his third consecutive Wimbledon final, extending his unbeaten run at the All England Club to 24 matches. The defending champion edged past Fritz 6-4 5-7 6-3 7-6 to book a place in Sunday’s showpiece against world number one Jannik Sinner.

The Spanish sensation made a blistering start, breaking Fritz’s powerful serve in the opening game and taking control of the first set with his trademark aggression and composure. Even a brief stoppage after something got into his eye did little to disrupt his rhythm as he claimed the opener with minimal fuss.

Fritz, 27, who was aiming to become the first American man to reach a Wimbledon final since 2009, showed resilience in the second set. Matching Alcaraz stride for stride, he capitalised on a lapse at 6-5 to break serve and level the match.

That setback only seemed to ignite Alcaraz, who came out firing in the third set. He immediately broke Fritz’s serve and reeled off 13 unanswered points, asserting complete dominance as he closed out the set without dropping a single point on his serve in the opening four games.

But the American was not done. Regaining his rhythm and power, Fritz pushed the fourth set into a tense climax. He held two set points and looked poised to take the match into a decider. Alcaraz, however, showcased his battling qualities under pressure, saving both points before seizing his opportunity at match point to seal victory.

The win takes Alcaraz into his sixth Grand Slam final and sets up another mouth-watering clash against Sinner, just weeks after their epic five-set battle in the French Open final. With his composure, speed and ability to elevate his game at crucial moments, Alcaraz remains a formidable opponent as he chases back-to-back Wimbledon titles.
