Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has announced the immediate dissolution of the State Executive Council, relieving all commissioners and special advisers of their duties.
The directive, issued on Tuesday from Ado-Ekiti, takes effect immediately, marking a major shake-up in the state’s administrative structure. Government sources indicated that the decision is aimed at repositioning the state’s governance framework and injecting fresh ideas into the administration’s second phase.
Governor Oyebanji expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their service and contributions to the development of the state, urging them to continue supporting his administration in other capacities.
The affected officials are to hand over all government properties in their possession to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior officers in their respective ministries.
This development comes as the governor prepares to unveil a new team to drive his policy agenda and deliver on campaign promises ahead of the next political cycle.
