The Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Dr. Zacch Adedeji, has visited the site of the proposed new FIRS headquarters, reaffirming the agency’s commitment to enhancing service delivery and improving operational efficiency.
During the inspection, Dr. Adedeji emphasized that the initiative aligns with the broader vision of modernizing Nigeria’s tax administration and creating a more conducive environment for both staff and taxpayers. He noted that the proposed headquarters would serve as a strategic hub to support digital reforms, expand tax net coverage, and ultimately boost government revenue.
He further stated that quality infrastructure is vital for fostering professionalism, transparency, and accountability within the agency. The proposed structure is expected to accommodate advanced technologies, better working conditions, and improved interface systems for taxpayer engagement.
The FIRS chairman was accompanied by senior management officials and technical experts who briefed him on the current status of the project and outlined timelines for completion.
The project forms part of the ongoing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s revenue generation capacity and fostering national development.
