Hajj 2025: Lagos Joins NAHCON, Other States to Inspect Pilgrims’ Tents in Muna and Arafah

As preparations intensify for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, officials from the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board have joined a high-level delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and representatives from other state boards to inspect tents and accommodation facilities in Muna and Arafah, two critical locations for the Hajj rites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The joint inspection, held earlier this week, is part of coordinated efforts to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of Nigerian pilgrims during the spiritually significant days of Hajj. The team assessed tent layouts, ventilation systems, water supply, and overall environmental readiness ahead of the arrival of thousands of Nigerian pilgrims in June.

During the exercise, the Lagos State delegation expressed satisfaction with the improvements observed at the tent sites. These enhancements include upgraded air-conditioning units, improved bedding arrangements, and better crowd control measures, all geared towards creating a more conducive environment for the pilgrims.

Speaking on behalf of the Lagos State contingent, a senior official from the pilgrims’ board stated that the state remains committed to ensuring its pilgrims have a seamless and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience. “We are pleased with the quality of facilities so far. It reflects the seriousness of both the Saudi authorities and NAHCON in ensuring that Nigerian pilgrims are given the best care possible during their stay in the Holy Land,” the official said.

NAHCON leadership also expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness, describing the facilities as a marked improvement from previous years. The Commission reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all Nigerian contingents benefit from quality service delivery throughout the Hajj season.

The inspection exercise highlights the importance of synergy between federal and state agencies in delivering on the mandate of providing pilgrims with secure, comfortable, and dignified accommodations during Hajj. With logistical preparations well underway, the 2025 Hajj is shaping up to be one of the most efficiently organized pilgrimages in recent years.
