Ile-Ife Islamic School Graduates 22 Young Quran Memorizers

Ile-Ife, Osun State – Rowdatu-T-Tanzeel Tahfeez Arabic School celebrated the graduation of 22 young students who successfully memorized the entire Holy Quran during a colorful ceremony held on Sunday, July 27 at Wura Event Centre in Aladanla, Ile-Ife.

The fourth edition of the school’s annual graduation attracted Islamic scholars, academics, parents and dignitaries from within and outside Nigeria, with some participants joining virtually. The event showcased the students’ mastery of Quranic recitation, tajweed (pronunciation rules), Arabic grammar and Islamic ethics through soul-stirring renditions that moved many attendees to tears.

School Director Mallam Mutiu Uthman emphasized the institution’s mission to instill Islamic values from an early age. “Memorizing the Quran is just the beginning. The real test is living by its teachings,” he advised the graduates, aged below 18, while urging Muslim parents to prioritize Islamic education. The school boasts alumni studying at prestigious institutions including Egypt’s Al-Azhar University and universities in Malaysia and Turkey.

Guest lecturer Sheikh Sirajudeen Bakrin, Chief Imam of Fountain University, charged the graduates to remain steadfast. “You are now bearers of Allah’s words. You must live by it and guide others,” he said, cautioning against negative influences. Professor Shuaib Osunleke, Chairman of the occasion, commended the students’ dedication and called on Muslims to project Quranic values of peace and justice in society.
