Ilorin South Chairman Inspects Completed Classrooms, Borehole Project at Ansar-Islam School

Ilorin, July 21, 2025 – The Executive Chairman of Ilorin South Local Government Council, Hon. Nuhu Majeed Podo, on Monday conducted an inspection of newly completed infrastructure projects at Ansar-Islam Nursery and Primary School, reaffirming his administration’s focus on improving basic education across the local government area.

The projects inspected include a fully constructed block of classrooms, an administrative office, and a borehole with running tap water—all of which are now ready for commissioning. The initiative forms part of the council’s ongoing efforts to upgrade public school facilities and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils and teaching staff alike.

Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Podo commended the contractors for the quality and timely completion of the work. He emphasized that educational development remains a core agenda of his leadership, stressing that no effort would be spared in raising the standard of learning infrastructure within Ilorin South.

“This project reflects our administration’s commitment to uplifting the education sector and ensuring that pupils learn in a safe and supportive environment,” the chairman stated. “We believe that investments like this will go a long way in inspiring both students and teachers toward academic excellence.”

The facility, according to local authorities, will soon be commissioned and handed over to the school management for immediate use. Community members and education stakeholders have lauded the development as a significant step toward advancing grassroots education in the area.
