“Killers of Kaduna Citizens in Plateau Must Face Justice,” Declares Governor Uba Sani

Kaduna, June 22, 2025 – Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has emphatically called for justice following recent attacks in Plateau State that claimed the lives of several citizens from Kaduna, stressing that the perpetrators must be held accountable.

In a statement released on Friday, the governor strongly denounced the violence, stating, “Killers of Kaduna citizens in Plateau must face justice.” He described the killings as “cold blooded” and a profound source of national pain, reinforcing the urgent need to overhaul the country’s security architecture .

Senator Uba Sani, who represents Kaduna Central, highlighted the toll on affected communities—particularly in Igabi and Giwa Local Government Areas—lamenting the loss of numerous innocent lives. He emphasised that such acts constitute crimes against humanity and demanded that security agencies pursue the perpetrators relentlessly.

As part of his response, Governor Sani promised to work closely with security agencies, the Kaduna State Government, and humanitarian organisations like NEMA to ensure relief and support for victims and displaced families. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to revamping security strategies and rebuilding trust across vulnerable communities.

The governor concluded by reiterating that failure to bring perpetrators to justice would embolden criminal elements, warning that the state would not rest until all responsible individuals are prosecuted under the full weight of the law  .

Governor Sani’s strong statements follow a series of violent incidents in Plateau, revitalising calls for inter-state cooperation and urgent reforms to protect citizens and restore peace.
