The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has issued a strong warning to the general public to beware of fraudulent recruitment schemes falsely linked to the agency.
In a statement released on Monday, LAMATA clarified that it is not currently conducting any recruitment exercise and has not authorized any individual or group to collect money or offer employment on its behalf. The agency expressed concern over the rising reports of scam messages and fake online advertisements inviting unsuspecting job seekers to apply for non-existent positions.
LAMATA emphasized that all official information regarding employment opportunities with the agency will only be published through its verified communication channels, including its official website and social media pages. It urged members of the public to verify any recruitment-related claims and report suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
The agency further reiterated its commitment to transparency and due process in all its operations and assured Lagosians that it remains focused on delivering efficient and safe urban transport solutions, free from exploitation or corruption.
LAMATA called on job seekers to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to scammers, noting that the fight against fraud in the public sector requires collective awareness and swift action
