At the latest edition of the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing series, the Special Adviser on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih, provided a comprehensive update on the activities and achievements of the Office of Sustainable Development Goals.
Dr. Finnih detailed the office’s ongoing efforts to align Nigeria’s development agenda with the global SDG framework, emphasizing progress in areas such as poverty reduction, quality education, healthcare access, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.
She highlighted key milestones, including increased collaboration with federal ministries, state governments, and international partners to accelerate SDG implementation across the country. Special attention was given to initiatives aimed at improving data collection and monitoring mechanisms to ensure transparency and effective tracking of Nigeria’s development goals.
The Special Adviser also spoke about the office’s engagement with youth and civil society organisations to promote awareness and community participation in achieving the SDGs.
Dr. Finnih reaffirmed the government’s commitment to integrating the SDGs into national policy frameworks, pledging continued focus on sustainable economic growth, social inclusion, and climate action.
