Nigerians residing in Portugal are set to benefit from a new tax policy that exempts them from paying taxes on income earned outside the country.
The development follows recent tax reforms introduced by the Portuguese government aimed at attracting foreign professionals and investors. Under the new regime, Portugal has waived taxes on foreign-earned income for residents who do not transfer such earnings into the country through local banking systems.
