Abeokuta, July 27, 2025
The Ogun State Government has sealed a strategic partnership with Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms (Arise IIP) for the development of a $2 billion garment manufacturing facility, marking one of the largest investments in Nigeria’s textile and apparel sector.
The landmark agreement was formalized in Abeokuta with Governor Dapo Abiodun emphasizing the project’s potential to drive industrialization, create thousands of jobs, and boost non-oil exports from the state. The new facility, which will be situated within the state’s industrial corridor, is expected to catalyze economic activities across the value chain, from cotton farming and textile production to fashion and logistics.
According to officials, the garment hub will incorporate state-of-the-art infrastructure, eco-friendly technology, and world-class training programs for Nigerian youths, positioning Ogun as a leading textile manufacturing destination in West Africa. The project is projected to generate over 40,000 direct and indirect jobs upon completion.
Arise IIP, a pan-African infrastructure and industrial development company, has previously delivered similar transformative projects in Togo, Gabon, and Benin Republic. Its partnership with Ogun State aligns with the Federal Government’s broader push for economic diversification, value-added exports, and sustainable industrial growth.
Governor Abiodun affirmed the state’s readiness to provide enabling infrastructure, land, and policy support to ensure the success of the initiative. The project is set to commence in phases later this year, with construction already scheduled to begin before the end of the third quarter.
