Ojulari Flags Off NNPC Exhibition at NOG 2025, Calls for Agility in Nigeria’s Energy Sector

Abuja, July 1, 2025 — The 24th NOG Energy Week Conference and Exhibition commenced on a high note as the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, officially declared the exhibition segment open.

The opening ceremony, which held earlier today in Abuja, was marked by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Engr. Ojulari, signaling the formal start of what is widely considered Nigeria’s premier energy gathering. The event brought together key players from the oil, gas, and renewable sectors, with stakeholders engaging on strategies to shape the future of energy in Nigeria and beyond.

In his keynote remarks, the GCEO emphasized the urgent need for Nigeria to adopt a more agile and adaptive approach within its energy sector. He underscored the centrality of energy security to national development, warning that without a forward-looking and resilient strategy, the country risks lagging behind in an increasingly dynamic global energy market.

“Energy security must remain at the heart of our national agenda,” Ojulari declared. “We must ask ourselves: what more can we do? How can we harness the innovations we’ve discussed over the years to move from intention to impact?”

The GCEO reflected on the progress achieved since the previous NOG conversations, highlighting areas such as upstream investments, domestic gas utilization, decarbonization efforts, and digital transformation within NNPC Ltd. He further reaffirmed the company’s commitment to transparency, operational excellence, and stakeholder engagement.

Accompanied by members of the NNPC Ltd. Board and senior management, Ojulari later toured the exhibition arena and visited the NNPC Ltd. corporate stand. There, he was briefed on various aspects of the company’s operations and ongoing initiatives by Hadassah Hussaini of the Corporate Communications Division. The stand showcased NNPC’s evolving role in driving energy transition, sustaining energy availability, and positioning Nigeria as a global energy player.
