Oleum Engages Over 2,000 Artisans at 2025 Nigerian Technicians Conference in Kano, Pushes CNG Future

Kano, Nigeria – June 11, 2025 – The just-concluded 2025 Nigerian Artisan and Technicians Conference in Kano witnessed a major boost for Nigeria’s transition to cleaner energy, as Oleum Lubricants connected with over 2,000 artisans, including more than 700 mechanics, to promote the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and the advantages of using high-quality engine lubricants.

The 3-day conference, held from May 26 to 28, served as a powerful platform for knowledge-sharing, industry collaboration, and capacity building. Organised in one of Nigeria’s busiest industrial hubs, the event brought together key stakeholders from across the automotive, energy, and informal sectors.

Representatives of Oleum conducted extensive sensitisation sessions on how Oleum products enhance engine performance and durability, especially as Nigeria gradually transitions to CNG-powered vehicles in line with the Federal Government’s gas utilisation policy.

“Our goal is to ensure artisans and mechanics are not left behind in Nigeria’s energy transition. We are here to equip them with the right knowledge and tools to thrive in the evolving auto service landscape,” said an Oleum representative during one of the breakout sessions.

Participants were educated on lubricant selection for different vehicle types, the economic and environmental benefits of switching to CNG, and the role of proper maintenance in achieving long engine life and fuel efficiency.

The event ended on a high note with an electrifying raffle draw, where lucky winners walked away with practical tools and equipment, including generators, toolboxes, branded coveralls, and premium Oleum gift items—all aimed at supporting local technicians in their work.

Oleum also thanked the people of Kano for their enthusiastic participation and hospitality, stating that such grassroots engagements are essential to building a resilient, skilled workforce that can drive Nigeria’s industrial growth.

“The energy in Kano was inspiring. These artisans are the heartbeat of Nigeria’s informal sector. Empowering them is a step toward a stronger economy,” the organisers concluded.

The 2025 conference further cements Kano’s status as a leading centre for technical development and signals growing industry support for sustainable automotive technologies.
