Olukoyede Urges Students to Be Anti-Corruption Ambassadors

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has called on Nigerian students to become active ambassadors of integrity and accountability in their schools, homes, and communities.

He made the appeal on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, during an educational excursion by students of Nobel Heights Academy, Karu, to the EFCC Academy in Abuja.

Speaking through the Head of the Academy’s Media Unit, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE I), Chidimma Amanambu, the EFCC Chairman underscored the importance of youth participation in the national anti-corruption drive.

“Youths are the future of the country. You are the ones that will make the country a better place. You are the ones to tell your parents, uncles, and aunties to obey the traffic lights. It is part of your duty at this tender age to point out when you see people do the wrong things and encourage them to do the right thing at all times,” she said.

Deputy Superintendent of the EFCC, DSE Angel Israel, further educated the students on the role of the Commission, the various laws under its enforcement mandate, as well as the penalties for financial crimes. She also highlighted some of the agency’s key achievements in combating corruption.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the EFCC Academy’s facilities and a group photo session featuring the Acting Commandant of the Academy, Mr. Joseph Ogwiji.

The EFCC’s engagement with students forms part of its broader strategy to instill values of transparency and discipline in the younger generation as a means of building a corruption-free Nigeria.
