Regency Alliance Pays N3.14 Billion in Claims in H1 2025 as Profits Decline

Lagos, Nigeria | September 18, 2025

Regency Alliance Insurance Plc has disclosed that it paid N3.14 billion in claims during the first half of 2025, a sharp rise from N916.79 million recorded in the same period of 2024.
According to the company’s unaudited financial statement, gross premium income increased by 63.8% to N6.15 billion, while net investment income rose by 13.2% to N837.98 million. Total assets expanded to N22.47 billion, compared to N18.42 billion in the first half of 2024.
Despite this growth, the company’s profitability came under pressure. Profit Before Tax fell to N321.17 million from N911.25 million in the corresponding period last year, while Profit After Tax dropped to N240.20 million from N740.45 million.
The surge in claims payments highlights the insurer’s commitment to meeting policyholder obligations, though the accompanying fall in profits reflects the financial strain of rising claims and expenses on the company’s operations.
