RMQK is a Satanic Group: Muslims, Beware

By Abdul-Ganiyy Raji

A group called RMQK emerged recently in Yoruba Land. Its leader is based in Abeokuta, South West Nigeria. The group claims to be promoting what it calls spiritism or spiritualism. It worships Jinns (i.e., supernatural beings. See Qur’an 72).

RMQK is an abbreviation for Ruqoyaaheelu, Marqatayaaheelu, Qoyqoyaaheelu, and Kashfayaaheelu. These four terms are the names of the Jinns that members of this group invoke in their prayers instead of Allah. The group believes that these Jinns (they call them spirits) control the universe, and therefore, people should direct their prayers to them instead of Allah, Who they believe does not answer prayers. They believe that God is not interested in running the affairs of mankind.

Members of this group do not believe that Allah is in charge of the universe. They believe that it is the four spirits mentioned above that control the universe. The group does not believe in the existence of Paradise or hell. They do not believe in destiny (Qadar). They claim to possess the power to heal the sick and bring the dead back to life.

Some members of the group believe that Salāt and other acts of worship are not important. The group believes that God retired from managing the universe upon the completion of creation, and it is spirits like the ones mentioned above that are running the universe. The group urges people to invite spirits for the running of their affairs and the attainment of spiritual powers instead of calling upon Allah Who cannot answer their prayers.

Some members of the group have recently come out of their closet to confirm that they are worshipping and invoking Jinns. Others are denying their connection with the worship or invocation of Jinns. They say they are only invoking the spirits that God has left the control of the universe in their hands. They are such a confused and confusing group.

The group is promoting Shirk (paganism). Many of its leaders have been heard in their lectures calling on Muslims to go and learn _Ifa, use _Isese_ and engage in pagan practices. They are promoting syncretism, which is a fusion of different religions.

Some leaders of the group attribute some of the attributes of Allah to themselves. Such attributes include the ability to know the unseen, foresee events before they occur, heal the sick, resurrect the dead, determine people’s success, give children, etc. Ironically, many members of the group look hungry and poverty-stricken.

This group is a devilish group. Muslims should keep away from it. It invites people to hellfire.

It is unfortunate that some Muslims, including some pseudo scholars, are already joining it. Some people erroneously assume that the group has the power to bring them riches and fame. This group will only bring shame and humiliation to its members and not fame or success.

No one brings riches or fame except Allah. A Muslim works diligently and then relies upon Allah to crown his or her efforts.

A true Muslim does not worship or invoke Jinns. A Muslim invokes only Allah.

The Qur’ān confirms that some men used to seek powers from Jinns, but the Jinns only brought them sorrow and misery. Today, we still have people who use Jinns for spiritual powers. RMQK is one of such groups.

See Qur’an 72:6

“There were men among mankind who sought protection with the males among the jinn, but they (jinn) increased them (mankind) in sin and transgression.”

RMQK is driving people to hell. It does not have the power to enrich or elevate people. Only Allah can enrich and elevate people. Its leaders have sweet words with which they deceive innocent people, but serious Muslims will not fall victim to their deceit. True Muslims guide their faith and relationship with Allah jealously.

Muslim clerics (Alfas) should not join them. I know it is difficult to tell those who have already joined them to renounce their membership, as the group operates like a cult. However, we urge those who have not joined to keep away from them. Listening to the utterances of the leaders of the group and a careful analysis of such utterances will convince one beyond any reasonable doubt that the group is calling people to hell.

Muslim clerics should not promote such a group among their members. Clerics who promote a group like this among their members will be liable and culpable before Allah.

As a Society, NASFAT will not hesitate to expell any of its Imams who joins such a group. We cannot afford to entrust our members to someone who will lead them to hell. The spiritual well-being of our members is important to us.

RMQK is an evil group. Stay away from them.
