Minna, Niger State – July 1, 2025 — A fatal road collision involving a truck and a private vehicle resulted in the death of one person yesterday afternoon along the Zuba–Madalla highway in Suleja Local Government Area, Niger State.
The crash occurred at approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, according to Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander for the FCT, Philip Theman. He confirmed that rescuers successfully recovered the victim’s body and worked swiftly to clear the traffic gridlock caused by the accident .
Emergency responders were dispatched promptly to the scene, restoring vehicular movement and easing congestion along the heavily trafficked route . Commander Theman also used the occasion to urge motorists to exercise caution, noting that the Zuba–Madalla stretch is notorious for frequent crashes attributed to reckless driving .
Authorities are calling for improved adherence to traffic regulations as well as enhanced road safety measures, particularly on this corridor linking the Federal Capital Territory and Niger State.
