The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, has participated in the 49th Extraordinary Session of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Council, held to deliberate on pressing regional and international developments.
The high-level emergency meeting brought together foreign ministers from member states of the GCC, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, and host country Saudi Arabia, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and maintain unity within the Gulf bloc amid emerging political, economic, and security challenges affecting the region.
Prince Faisal, representing the Kingdom, engaged in discussions focused on strengthening collective diplomatic positions, enhancing economic ties, and addressing shared concerns, particularly surrounding the ongoing crisis in Gaza, regional stability, and relations with key international partners. The council reviewed several resolutions and policy stances aimed at reinforcing the GCC’s role as a central pillar of Middle East diplomacy.
Held under the framework of unity and mutual security, the 49th extraordinary meeting reflects the Council’s commitment to a coordinated response to threats facing the Gulf region and its people. Prince Faisal bin Farhan reiterated Saudi Arabia’s continued dedication to collaborative action, peace promotion, and regional development, in line with the Kingdom’s foreign policy vision under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The meeting concluded with a joint communiqué reaffirming the GCC’s position on several geopolitical issues and outlining a path forward for strategic coordination across diplomatic, economic, and security fronts.
