President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s resolve to accelerate approvals and execution of critical infrastructure projects across Nigeria, stressing that the average citizen is more concerned with functional amenities than promises.
Speaking during a high-level meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, the President emphasized that basic infrastructure such as uninterrupted power supply, accessible road networks, functional healthcare facilities, and quality education must be treated as non-negotiable priorities if the nation is to witness sustainable progress.
“What Nigerians want are results – light in their homes, good roads to their farms and markets, hospitals that work, and schools that truly educate their children,” Tinubu stated firmly, as he called on both public and private sector stakeholders to move beyond bureaucracy and deliver tangible outcomes.
The President noted that while funding remains critical, it must be complemented by innovation, transparency, and sincere collaboration between government and private investors. According to him, a functional economy cannot thrive on capital alone, but on the ability to build systems that deliver value, maintain accountability, and ensure equity in infrastructure development.
“We must prioritise integrity and efficiency in public-private partnerships. The focus should not be just about how much is invested, but how effectively we use every naira to transform the lives of our people,” he declared.
President Tinubu’s remarks come amid a growing national demand for faster execution of development projects, with stakeholders urging the Federal Government to cut through red tape that often hinders progress. His statement also aligns with his administration’s broader Renewed Hope Agenda, which places premium emphasis on economic reform, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development.
The call for accelerated implementation follows recent strides by the Federal Government in sectors such as transportation, energy, and digital economy, with several road rehabilitation works underway, renewed investment in the power sector, and commitments to reposition education and healthcare.
