Tinubu Targets Q1 2026 for Launch of National Single Window Project

July 23, 2025 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has set the first quarter of 2026 as the official target for the commencement of the National Single Window (NSW) initiative, a transformative project aimed at streamlining trade and port operations across Nigeria.

The announcement underscores the federal government’s commitment to enhancing the ease of doing business and tackling the bottlenecks that hinder efficiency in import and export processes. The NSW platform is designed to allow parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardised information and documents through a single entry point, thereby reducing processing time, curbing corruption, and boosting revenue.

Speaking during a high-level briefing with key stakeholders, President Tinubu emphasized that the timely execution of the project is central to Nigeria’s broader economic reform agenda. He described the Single Window as a critical digital infrastructure that will reposition Nigeria’s trade ecosystem in line with global best practices.

The project will be jointly supervised by relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including the Nigeria Customs Service, Nigerian Ports Authority, and the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning. Stakeholders believe the NSW will not only improve transparency and coordination among agencies but also attract more foreign investment by creating a more predictable business environment.

With preparations underway, the Tinubu administration has directed all concerned MDAs to ensure full readiness for the Q1 2026 rollout.
