The families of Salau and Aremu celebrated the union of their children, Halimah Oluwatosin Salau and Abdullahi Ayobami Aremu, in a traditional wedding ceremony held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Jama-at-ul Islammiya Mosque Hall, Magodo GRA 2, Shangisha, Lagos.

The event began with an opening prayer led by Abdul Ganiyy, followed by warm greetings to the families of the bride and groom.

Although the bride and groom were not physically present at the Lagos ceremony, they joined virtually through a live Zoom stream, in accordance with the modern adaptation of cultural traditions. The virtual presence allowed the couple to participate actively, while family and friends on ground witnessed the proceedings.

Nasfat Chief Missioner, Imam Abdulazeez Marufu Onike officiated the traditional marriage rites, guiding the process according to Islamic and cultural practices, before offering prayers for the couple’s prosperity, peace, and harmony in their new home.

The ceremony reflected a strong blend of tradition and faith, as scholars guided the couples making refrence to the Quran and the holy prophet Muhammad.

In his address, the Chief Missioner highlighted the significance of building a union rooted in piety, patience, and mutual understanding, emphasizing the responsibility of both spouses to nurture a peaceful home.

The celebration in Lagos also served as a prelude to the couple’s Aqd Nikkah, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in North Carolina, USA.

Guests departed the Lagos ceremony with prayers and blessings for the newlyweds, marking the event as both a spiritual and joyous family gathering.
