Sixteen-year-old Chinedu Nwali has been awarded a N5 million cash prize and a full scholarship up to university level by Rainoil Limited in recognition of his exceptional artistic depiction of a Rainoil station. The presentation took place on Tuesday at the Rainoil Summit Station in Asaba, Delta State, where the Group Managing Director of Rainoil, Dr. Gabriel Ogbechie, lauded Chinedu’s remarkable talent.
Dr. Ogbechie expressed immense pride in Chinedu’s work, stating, “His design captures not just the visual identity of Rainoil but also the passion and admiration behind it.” He emphasized that the company was not only rewarding Chinedu financially but also supporting his education to ensure his continued development. “While many youths are getting involved in wrong things, here is a young boy who used his time to create something so detailed. He should be a role model to other children,” Dr. Ogbechie added.
The scholarship will cover Chinedu’s education from now until university, with Rainoil committing to stay engaged with him to ensure he remains focused on his studies and artistic growth. Dr. Ogbechie reiterated the company’s dedication to community development and youth empowerment, encouraging other young people to emulate Chinedu’s example and avoid negative influences.
Chinedu, a Senior Secondary School (SSI) student, expressed his gratitude and surprise at the award, revealing that he had long admired Rainoil’s brand and service stations. His admiration inspired him to create a prototype of a Rainoil station, which ultimately caught the attention of the company’s leadership.
