46th Edition of The Explainer Highlights Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as Catalyst for National Transformation

Abuja, Nigeria – June 15, 2025

The 46th edition of The Explainer, a flagship publication under the National Orientation Agency (NOA), has spotlighted the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project, describing it as a transformative infrastructure initiative with the potential to redefine Nigeria’s economic landscape.

According to the publication, the highway, championed by the Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, has been hailed as a “game-changer” and a “blueprint for national transformation.” The expansive project spans nine states and is expected to significantly boost economic growth, reduce logistics costs by an estimated 15–20 percent, and open new avenues for national development.

The report highlights that the highway will improve connectivity to key production and marketing hubs, thereby fostering regional integration, enhancing trade, and driving inclusive growth. It is also projected to positively impact Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with benefits extending to farmers, manufacturers, exporters, and other stakeholders in the logistics and commerce value chains.

The Explainer further includes a series of updates on policy initiatives, achievements, and reforms implemented by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the past two years. These include developments in infrastructure, economy, social welfare, and governance.
