Dangote Accuses Ex-Governor Amosun of Twice Demolishing His Cement Factory –

Chairman of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has alleged that former Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, twice demolished his cement factory in Imota, before his successor, Governor Dapo Abiodun, allowed him to rebuild it.

Dangote made the revelation during a meeting with Governor Abiodun in Abeokuta on Monday, March 17. According to a statement from the Ogun State Government, the meeting focused on expanding investment opportunities in key sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and oil and gas.

Dangote Recounts Factory Demolition
In a widely circulated video, Dangote detailed how his cement factory in Itori was twice demolished under the Amosun administration.

“I want it on record that the factory we are visiting in Itori exists today because of His Excellency, Governor Abiodun. This factory was demolished twice under the previous administration.”

Dangote explained that after the first demolition, he restarted construction, only for the Amosun government to pull it down again. However, under Governor Abiodun’s leadership, the factory was reinstated, allowing operations to resume.

“We are back because of the cooperation of Governor Abiodun, and people will be surprised to see the progress,” he added.

The business mogul’s comments highlight the challenges faced by investors in Ogun State under past administrations and underscore the current government’s efforts to foster industrial growth and attract investment.
