Lagos Governor Receives CAN Delegation, Reaffirms Commitment to Religious Harmony

The Governor of Lagos State recently received a delegation from the Lagos State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by its Chairman, Bishop Dr. Stephen Adegbite, during a courtesy visit to the State House.

The visit provided an opportunity for fruitful dialogue on issues of mutual interest, including the promotion of peace, religious tolerance, and continued collaboration between the government and religious institutions in the state.

Welcoming the delegation, the Governor expressed appreciation for the pivotal role religious leaders play in fostering unity and moral guidance across Lagos. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to upholding religious harmony, noting that peaceful coexistence among faiths has been a cornerstone of the state’s stability and development.

In his remarks, Bishop Adegbite commended the Governor for his inclusive leadership and the administration’s strides in infrastructure, education, and social welfare. He assured the government of CAN’s continued prayers and support, especially in its efforts to make Lagos a model of good governance and interfaith collaboration.

The visit underscores the strong ties between the Lagos State Government and the religious community, with both parties pledging to work together in the collective interest of all residents, regardless of faith or background.
