The serene grounds of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo Badagry have come alive as delegates and special guests continue to arrive for the 18th Annual NASFAT Youth Conference a landmark event that has united hundreds of young Muslims from across Nigeria and the diaspora. The conference which is hosted by the Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society Youth Wing, is themed “Global Citizenship Through the Lens of Faith: Connecting Local Actions to Global Outcomes.” This year’s gathering underscores the importance of nurturing globally conscious Muslim youth.
Upon arrival, delegates were ushered through an accreditation process that served as their official entry into the multi day programme. The accreditation coordinated by members of the Organising Committee involved identification verification and accommodation. Most participants expressed satisfaction with the procedures noting that despite the high turnout the system was relatively smooth and organized.
In an effort to capture the mood and perspectives of attendees, spontaneous interviews were conducted at the registration points where participants were asked about their experiences, expectations and overall impressions. While individual reactions varies the responses were overwhelmingly positive, reflecting a strong sense of enthusiasm and satisfaction among those present.
The 18th edition of the conference is already shaping up to be a milestone for NASFAT Youth Wing, bringing together a diverse range of participants including students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, and faith leaders. The programme seeks to expand the worldview of attendees by linking local Islamic principles with global social responsibility.
As activities continue to unfold at ASCON, the energy is palpable and expectations are high with the opening ceremony set to feature key NASFAT leadership and distinguished guests, many believe this year’s conference will set a new benchmark for youth engagement and intercontinental collaboration under the NASFAT umbrella.
Indeed, for these young Muslims gathered at Topo-Badagry, it is more than just a conference it is a convergence of faith, purpose and shared global aspirations.
