NEMA Hosts Strategic Workshop to Develop 2025 Operational Plan

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has convened a high-level strategic workshop aimed at formulating its Operational Plan for 2025. The session, held in Abuja, brought together senior management staff, emergency response stakeholders, and technical partners to review current capacities and chart a proactive course for disaster preparedness and response in the coming year.

Director-General of NEMA, Mustapha Ahmed, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of data-driven planning, inter-agency collaboration, and resilience-building in communities. He noted that the 2025 Operational Plan would focus on enhancing early warning systems, logistics coordination, and timely humanitarian interventions in line with global best practices.

The workshop featured panel discussions, scenario-based planning, and strategic alignment with the National Disaster Risk Reduction policy. Participants were tasked with identifying priority risks and proposing scalable response mechanisms for both natural and man-made emergencies.

NEMA reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property through innovation, rapid response, and stakeholder synergy.
