NAF Deploys Additional Aircraft to North-Central to Boost Security Operations

Abuja, Nigeria – June 17, 2025
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its security operations in the North-Central region with the deployment of additional aircraft to support ongoing peacekeeping and stabilization efforts.

The deployment, according to military sources, is aimed at enhancing aerial surveillance, providing close air support to ground troops, and responding swiftly to emerging threats across conflict-prone areas within the region.

NAF’s latest move follows recent directives by the Chief of Air Staff to scale up joint operations and inter-agency collaboration in areas affected by banditry, communal clashes, and insurgent activity.

“This strategic deployment reflects NAF’s unwavering commitment to national peace and security, especially in vulnerable communities,” an official statement noted.

Residents in affected areas have welcomed the development, expressing hope that the increased military presence will help restore calm and deter criminal activities.

The North-Central region, which includes states like Benue, Plateau, and Nasarawa, has experienced periodic violence in recent years, prompting heightened security measures by federal authorities.
