In a bold effort to curb rising insecurity, the Delta State Government has unveiled an aggressive “bumper-to-bumper” strategy aimed at stamping out criminal elements and restoring public safety.
The Director General of Delta State Security, Hon. David Tonwe, made this known while announcing the expanded rollout of Operation Delta Sweep, a tactical initiative focused on proactive law enforcement in critical areas.
According to Tonwe, the operation will be heavily concentrated in urban flashpoints including Asaba, Warri, Ughelli, Abraka, and other high-risk locations across the state. The objective, he said, is to reclaim public spaces and reassure citizens of the government’s commitment to their safety.
“This is a strategic, round-the-clock operation targeting hotspots, criminal hideouts, and blackspots. The era of impunity is over,” Tonwe stated.
Operation Delta Sweep is expected to involve a coordinated effort between state security agencies, local vigilante groups, and community stakeholders, with the government promising sustained action until law and order are fully restored.
