Kano, June 22, 2025 – Tragedy struck in a densely populated area of Kano State on Saturday night as a devastating bomb explosion ripped through a residential neighbourhood, leaving at least five persons dead and ten others with varying degrees of injuries.
The incident occurred in the early evening hours, sending residents into panic as the explosion rocked buildings and shattered windows across the vicinity. Emergency response teams, including personnel from the Nigerian Police Force, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and the Kano State Fire Service, swiftly moved to the scene to contain the situation and evacuate victims.
According to preliminary reports from security operatives, the blast appears to have originated from an improvised explosive device (IED) planted within the area. However, investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause and identify those responsible.
