Abuja, Nigeria – June 28, 2025 — The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a public disclaimer alerting Nigerians to an influx of unauthorized email, text, and WhatsApp messages, as well as phone calls, falsely made in the Commission’s name. These fraudulent communications reportedly instruct recipients to download applications or provide sensitive personal information.
In a statement signed by the Commission’s management and released on Thursday, CAC distanced itself from such communications and advised customers and stakeholders to ignore any such requests.
“The Commission wishes to disassociate itself from such demands and therefore implore our esteemed customers and stakeholders to disregard such requests,” the statement read.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and best global practices, CAC reiterated that its official services are delivered online through the Company Registration Portal (CRP) and that all legitimate updates are published via its official website: www.cac.gov.ng.
“For any clarification regarding our services, the public is encouraged to use the dedicated phone numbers available on our website,” the Commission advised.
The CAC reassured the public of its continued dedication to providing reliable registration and regulatory services in a manner that meets public expectations and ensures data security.
The Commission’s statement concluded with a strong commitment to upholding public trust and maintaining secure and professional operations in its dealings.
