Lagos, July 18, 2025 – Participants of the Senior Executive Course 47, 2025 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
The high-level delegation, comprising top-ranking public and private sector professionals undergoing advanced policy and strategic training, was received by the Governor and members of the State Executive Council.
During the visit, Governor Sanwo-Olu commended the role of NIPSS in grooming leaders for national development and charged the participants to approach their strategic assignments with patriotism and a deep sense of responsibility. He highlighted the importance of forward-thinking leadership in addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges and reaffirmed Lagos State’s commitment to fostering policy innovation and good governance.
The governor also took the opportunity to showcase key achievements of his administration, particularly under the T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda, including major strides in infrastructure, education, health, and transportation.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, the team leader appreciated the warm reception and acknowledged Lagos State’s leadership role in policy implementation, economic growth, and urban development. He noted that the visit formed part of their national study tour designed to engage directly with states demonstrating exemplary governance.
The NIPSS participants are expected to draw insights from their engagement with Lagos State in shaping their final report, which will be submitted to the Presidency as part of the institute’s annual contribution to national policy discourse.
