Nigerian international Ademola Lookman has intensified his push for a summer move to Inter Milan, rejecting reported interest from Arsenal and skipping Atalanta’s pre-season training camp for several days.
The 27-year-old forward, who starred in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League triumph last season, is at odds with the club over its refusal to sanction his transfer. Atalanta has reportedly turned down two offers from Inter — valued at €40 million and €42 million plus bonuses — insisting on their €50 million asking price.
Sources close to the player say Lookman is frustrated by what he claims are “broken promises” from the Bergamo outfit. He has not indicated any willingness to consider moves outside Italy, despite the club’s openness to offers from abroad.
Reports of Arsenal’s interest have circulated in the English press, but Italian media suggest the Premier League link may be overstated, with Lookman remaining focused solely on a switch to the San Siro.
The standoff comes as the transfer window enters its final weeks, leaving both Atalanta and Inter under pressure to resolve the situation before the deadline.
