NGF Launches ‘Investopedia’ to Showcase State Opportunities and Attract Investors

Abuja, Nigeria — August 17, 2025 | The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has unveiled Investopedia, a digital investment guide aimed at boosting investor confidence and highlighting business opportunities across the country’s 36 states.

The platform was officially launched at the NGF Economic Development Summit in Abuja, with the Chairman of the Forum and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, describing it as a one-stop resource for both local and international investors. The tool provides verified data on sectors, investment incentives, and ease of doing business reforms in each state.

Governor AbdulRazaq explained that Investopedia was designed to close the information gap that often discourages investment inflows, while also encouraging healthy competition among states by spotlighting their individual strengths. He stressed that the initiative is part of a broader plan to decentralize economic growth and reduce reliance on federal allocations.

“Every state has untapped potential — whether in agriculture, mining, manufacturing, or tourism. With Investopedia, investors can now access reliable and credible information at their fingertips,” the governor said.

Development partners including the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) commended the launch, describing it as a timely intervention to reposition Nigeria as a competitive investment hub.

Analysts, however, cautioned that the platform’s success will depend on regular updates, regulatory transparency, and improvements in security, which remain key concerns for investors.

The NGF assured that Investopedia will be continually updated in partnership with state investment agencies and relevant ministries to ensure accuracy, reliability, and sustained investor trust.
