The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) has issued a response to recent remarks made by sprint sensation Tobi Amusan regarding her competition kits, asserting that there is no issue with the attire provided. According to the federation, Amusan only showcased one set of the kits from the batch she was given, while the remaining items were scheduled for delivery the following day.
In an official statement, the AFN explained that the kits arrived in multiple batches, and athletes were informed accordingly. “There is nothing wrong with those kits,” the federation stated, “Tobi Amusan only brought out one pack out of the pack that she was given. The items came in batches, so they were told that the following day they would receive the rest of the kits. She just brought out only that one kit and displayed it to the world.”
This clarification comes after the world-record-holding hurdler expressed concerns on social media about the state and completeness of the athletic kits provided for competition. The AFN’s response aims to address any misunderstandings and reassure the public that the athletes are being adequately equipped for international events.
