Nigeria @ 65: Federal Government Unveils “All Hands on Deck” Theme for Independence Celebration

Abuja, Nigeria – In anticipation of the nation’s landmark 65th Independence Anniversary, the Federal Government has officially announced the theme and a series of activities to mark the occasion on October 1, 2025.

The celebratory theme, “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” was unveiled in a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Federation, Mr. Segun Imohiosen.

According to the statement, the theme is a powerful call to action, underscoring the importance of unity, collaboration, and patriotic fervour across all sectors of society. It highlights a shared vision for a Nigeria defined by sustainable peace, widespread prosperity, and continuous progress.

Mr. Imohiosen outlined a schedule of events designed to foster a spirit of national unity. The celebrations will commence with solemn reflections, starting with a Juma’at Prayer on Friday, September 26th, at 1:00 pm. This will be followed by an Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, September 28th, at 10:00 am. A World Press Conference is also scheduled for Monday, September 29th, at 10:00 am.

The government noted that all programmes are carefully curated to align with the official theme, ensuring the message of collective responsibility resonates deeply and supports the actualisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

As a nation, we proudly observe Independence Day every October 1st as a public holiday to commemorate our sovereignty from the United Kingdom in 1960. The day is traditionally marked with official ceremonies, vibrant military parades, colourful cultural displays, and public events across the country, celebrating our rich history and bright future.

Kiin360 joins all Nigerians in looking forward to celebrating 65 years of nationhood, reinforcing our collective commitment to building a greater Nigeria, together.
