Abuja, June 28, 2025 – The Federal Government has congratulated Aare Afe Babalola and the entire Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) community following the institution’s historic inclusion in the top 100 of the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.
In a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Education, ABUAD was praised for emerging as the 84th best university in the world, 3rd in Africa, and maintaining its position as Nigeria’s top-ranked university for the fourth consecutive year, spanning 2022 to 2025.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, in a letter addressed to the institution’s Founder and Chancellor, Aare Afe Babalola, OFR, CON, SAN, hailed the legal icon’s enduring commitment to quality education and national development. He described the achievement as not only a personal triumph but a national milestone.
“Your achievement is a catalyst that should propel, inspire, and encourage deeper commitment to quality, functional, and globally competitive education,” the Minister said, lauding the ABUAD community’s collective dedication.
Dr. Alausa also emphasized that the accomplishment calls for renewed commitment by all stakeholders in the Nigerian education sector to match ABUAD’s pace in promoting excellence, innovation, and global relevance.
He affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with ABUAD and other forward-thinking institutions to further research, innovation, and sustainable education initiatives nationwide.
The Minister concluded by wishing Aare Afe Babalola and the ABUAD community continued success in blazing the trail in higher education.
