Adamawa Concludes 2025 Hajj Operations as Final Batch Departs Yola

Yola — The Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission has successfully wrapped up its 2025 Hajj operations following the departure of the final batch of pilgrims from Yola International Airport on Saturday.

According to officials of the Commission, the last group consisted of 68 pilgrims who joined thousands of others from the state in fulfilling the fifth pillar of Islam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With this final flight, the state has now completed the airlift of all registered pilgrims for this year’s Hajj exercise.

The Commission expressed gratitude to Allah for the smooth coordination and safe departure of its pilgrims, noting that this year’s Hajj operations recorded remarkable improvements in logistics, screening, and welfare services.

Executive Secretary of the Commission, Malam Salihu Abubakar, who supervised the farewell at the airport, praised the pilgrims for their cooperation and discipline throughout the pre-departure processes. He also extended appreciation to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), airline operators, and relevant security agencies for their roles in ensuring a seamless operation.

“This successful conclusion is a testament to the joint efforts of all stakeholders and the commitment of the state government to the spiritual and physical welfare of its intending pilgrims,” Malam Abubakar said.

The pilgrims are expected to commence their Hajj rites in Madina and Makkah in the coming days, joining over a million Muslims from around the world in what is regarded as the largest annual religious gathering globally.

Adamawa remains one of the early states to complete its outbound Hajj operations for 2025, in line with NAHCON’s phased airlift schedule.
