Africa’s Biggest Accounting Event Set to Deliver Unmatched Value This Year

Lagos, June 10, 2025 – The countdown has begun for Africa’s largest and most influential accounting event, and this year, it’s coming with greater value, deeper insights, and broader impact for professionals across the continent.

Organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in partnership with regional and global accounting bodies, the 2025 African Accounting Summit is scheduled to take place in Lagos later this month, drawing thousands of finance professionals, policymakers, business executives, and academics from across the continent and beyond.

With the theme “Redefining Accountability in a Disruptive Era”, this year’s summit promises to tackle the pressing challenges facing the accounting profession amid rapid technological advancement, economic uncertainty, and shifting regulatory frameworks.

Keynote speakers will include global thought leaders in finance, audit, and corporate governance, as well as top government officials and captains of industry, all converging to share insights on ethics, sustainability reporting, artificial intelligence in auditing, and strengthening public financial management systems.

The event will feature high-level panel discussions, technical breakout sessions, certification masterclasses, and an innovation hub where fintech startups and accounting solution providers will showcase cutting-edge tools designed to modernize the profession.

Speaking ahead of the event, ICAN President, Mallam Tijjani Musa Isa, noted that this year’s edition would “not only reflect on where the profession stands today, but chart a bold path forward for finance professionals in Africa who must lead with integrity, innovation, and purpose.”

Participants are also expected to benefit from powerful networking opportunities, CPD credits, and tailored sessions for young accountants, CFOs, auditors, and public sector professionals.

As anticipation builds, stakeholders across Africa’s financial landscape are encouraged to seize the opportunity to engage, collaborate, and shape the future of accounting in what promises to be a landmark gathering for the profession.
