Nigeria’s leading indigenous carrier, Air Peace, has officially announced the commencement of direct flights from Abuja to two of the United Kingdom’s busiest airports — London Heathrow and London Gatwick — with operations scheduled to begin on October 26, 2025.
The airline made the disclosure in a statement released on Saturday, July 20, 2025, noting that the decision aligns with its strategic expansion plan to connect major Nigerian cities directly to top global destinations. This development follows the successful launch of its Lagos–London service earlier this year.
According to the airline, the new Abuja–London routes will provide passengers with more convenient travel options, reduce layover times, and significantly enhance bilateral air travel between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
“This expansion is part of our commitment to give Nigerians more choices and improve connectivity. We are excited to bridge the gap between Abuja and the UK with direct access to Heathrow and Gatwick,” the statement read.
Industry experts have welcomed the move, saying it would boost tourism, business, and diaspora travel while helping to break foreign airlines’ dominance on the route.
Air Peace also reassured customers that it will continue offering competitive fares and top-class service, with the new routes operated by its flagship Boeing 777 aircraft.
Travelers can now begin booking flights for the October launch via the airline’s official platforms.
