Akpabio Demands Justice for Edo Killings Victims

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has strongly condemned the murder of 16 travelers in Edo State, describing it as a senseless act of violence that has no place in society. Akpabio urged the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book and held accountable for their actions.

The Senate President expressed his deep sadness and disturbance over the gruesome murder, which he termed “unacceptable” and “heinous.” He extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, the government of Edo State, and all those affected by the incident.

Akpabio emphasized the need for unity and peace among Nigerians, stating that such acts of violence should not be allowed to divide the country or undermine collective efforts to build a better Nigeria.

The victims, who were lynched by a mob, were buried on Saturday in Uromi, Edo State. Members of the Hausa community gathered to pay their last respects to the victims, who were accused of being kidnappers and burnt to death on Friday.
