The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, has appointed a new Chief of Staff and Special Adviser to the throne. This development was disclosed through a statement issued by the monarch’s former Chief of Staff, Rotimi Osuntola, on Wednesday. The statement, titled ‘Re: My New Role as Special Adviser to His Imperial Majesty, The Alaafin of Oyo,’ came shortly after Osuntola’s elevation to the position of Special Adviser, a role he expressed great humility and gratitude in accepting.
Osuntola, who had served as the Chief of Staff to Oba Owoade from January to early April 2025, took the opportunity to reflect on his tenure. He acknowledged the great privilege it had been to serve the Alaafin in such an important capacity and reiterated his unwavering dedication to the throne and the heritage of Oyo.
