The Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee has issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s proposed plan to maintain its occupation of Gaza, describing the move as a blatant violation of international law and a “crime against humanity.”
In a statement released after a high-level meeting, the committee denounced Israel’s continued military operations and blockade in the Gaza Strip, accusing it of systematically targeting civilians and undermining efforts for peace in the region.
The ministers reiterated their unified stance that Gaza is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories and must not be subjected to permanent control by Israel. They called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate and decisive action to stop what they labelled as ongoing war crimes.
The committee further urged the protection of Palestinian civilians, the provision of humanitarian aid, and the acceleration of diplomatic efforts to achieve a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders.
Israel has yet to officially respond to the committee’s latest accusations.
