AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria Staff Sign Performance Management Systems Contract

Abuja, Nigeria | August 8, 2025
In a move to enhance institutional efficiency and staff accountability, the Nigerian office of the African Union Development Agency-New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD) has formally signed Performance Management Systems (PMS) contracts with its employees.

The contract signing ceremony, held at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, marked a strategic milestone in aligning staff performance with national development priorities and AUDA-NEPAD’s operational mandates in Nigeria.

Speaking during the event, National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Princess Gloria Akobundu, emphasized the importance of a results-driven culture in the public sector. She noted that the PMS initiative would serve as a framework for measurable output, promote efficiency, and strengthen transparency within the organization.

According to her, the implementation of performance contracts is in line with the broader goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, which focuses on good governance, institutional reforms, and improved public service delivery.

The performance contracts outline specific roles, responsibilities, deliverables, and timelines for each staff member, with periodic evaluations to track progress and address any gaps. The system is expected to reinforce accountability, motivate staff performance, and ensure better coordination in AUDA-NEPAD’s projects across key sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, education, health, and digital transformation.

Officials from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and other key government stakeholders were present to witness the signing, which sets the tone for greater institutional productivity and alignment with continental development goals.
