Bauchi Government Subsidizes Fertiliser to Boost Agricultural Access

The Bauchi State Government has announced a significant subsidy on fertiliser prices, directing that the NPK 20:10:10 fertiliser, valued at ₦35,000, be sold to farmers at a subsidized rate of ₦20,000 per bag.

This move is aimed at enhancing access to critical farm inputs for local farmers as part of the state’s efforts to strengthen food security and support smallholder agriculture. The government emphasized that the price reduction is part of a broader strategy to cushion the impact of rising production costs on rural farmers and ensure a successful farming season.

According to state officials, the fertiliser subsidy will not only stimulate productivity but also improve the livelihoods of thousands of residents who rely on agriculture for their income.

Farmers and cooperative groups across the state have been urged to take advantage of the initiative, which is expected to be implemented through designated distribution channels to prevent hoarding and ensure transparency.
