Bauchi State Approves New Salary and Welfare Package to Attract Healthcare Workers

Bauchi State Government has approved a revised salary and welfare package designed to attract and retain medical doctors and other health professionals within the state’s healthcare system. The decision comes amid growing concerns over staff shortages and the need to improve healthcare delivery across the region.

The approval was made during a recent State Executive Council meeting, where the urgent need to enhance remuneration and working conditions for healthcare workers was emphasized. The new package aims to make Bauchi more competitive in recruiting skilled medical personnel and addressing the brain drain affecting the sector.

Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration has been actively working to strengthen the health sector, including initiatives such as the accreditation of the Aliko Dangote College of Nursing Science to offer National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programs. Efforts to improve welfare for nurses and midwives have also been ongoing.

Implementation of the new salary and welfare package is expected to commence soon, as the government reiterates its commitment to enhancing the state’s healthcare infrastructure and ensuring quality medical services for its residents.
